A Week Later, Carmel Swim Club Smacks NCAP’s NAG Record in 200 Free Relay

Just a week after the girls from NCAP obliterated the 15-18 National Age Group Record in the 200 yard free relay at the senior Winter National Championships, the girls of the Carmel Swim Club in Indiana have come right back and knocked another second off of their mark.

The team of Rachel Hayden (22.95 – 18), Amy Bilquist (22.07 – 16), Claire Adams (22.71 -15), and Veronica Burchill (22.76 – 16) combined for a 1:30.49. That broke the SwimMAC Winter Juniors Meet Record of 1:31.84, as well as the NCAP NAG Record of 1:31.09 from last week. The SwimMAC relay that was the Meet Record had been the NAG Record as well until a few days ago.

SwimMAC ’12 NCAP ’13 Carmel ’13
Old Meet Record Old NAG Record New Meet/NAG Record
Kathleen Baker – 23.10 Janet Hu – 21.90 Rachel Hayden – 22.95
Nora McCullagh – 22.89 Laura Branton – 23.45 Amy Bilquist – 22.07
Caitlin Casazza – 23.26 Kylie Jordan – 23.33 Claire Adams – 22.71
Lauren Rhodes – 22.59 Katie Ledecky – 22.41 Veronica Burchill – 22.76

This swim by the Carmel girls would have scored at last year’s NCAA Championship meet; specifically it would have placed them 15th in finals.
