WATCH: Richard Funk On Preparing For Trials In Canada

2016 CANADIAN OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC TRIALS

After a very solid NCAA career at Michigan, Richard Funk chose to take his talents north of the border in order to swim with Ben Titley at the High Performance Centre – Ontario.

Funk came to Toronto in order to complete his preparation for the 2016 Canadian Olympic Trials where he’s the top seed in the 100m breaststroke. Tonight could be the night that Funk qualifies for the Rio team after touching in at 1:00.66 this morning.

In order to qualify he’s going to need to go up against both Jason Block and Ashton Baumann who were both within half a second of him this morning.

After Funk’s success last summer, he’s the undeniable favourite to take home gold in this race, and the 200 later in the meet.
