On the final day of the 67th Sette Colli Trophy in Rome, Gretchen Walsh took four hundredths off the world record in the 50 freestyle, stopping the clock in 23.55.

The former record of 23.59 was just nine days old, and was set by Walsh’s teammate and training partner Kate Douglass with Walsh in the next lane.

Former World Record holder Sarah Sjostrom was also in the race, finishing 2nd in a blistering 23.86, and Italy’s Sara Curtis, who trains at Virginia with Walsh and Douglass, set a new Italian Record to finish 3rd in 24.09.

Worthless video – why does the manager of the video do this crap? I want to see who is breathing, who is not, etc.. NCAA does the same thing with brief worthless underwater clips

That was me. There was nothing about my comment saying GW isn’t a top tier swimmer? She is remarkable and on her way to being the #2 swimmer in the world.
