Torri Huske on New Meet Format: “Obviously, not having B Finals is the biggest bummer”

2026 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships

Torri Huske won her first 100 Fly NCAA title tonight by a very narrow margin, touching ahead of fellow Tokyo Olympian by .06. After the race, however, Huske was blunt about her feelings of the changes to the meet format implemented this year. Huske was bummed with the absence of B-finals, bemoaning the fact that she wasn’t able to watch her teammates compete again at night.

As a spectator in the building, this is hands down the most awful excuse for a fan experience there could possibly be at a swim meet. It is also the number one topic of conversation other than the few swims we get to watch. If they want to kill swimming these changes are the way to do it.

Can SS verify that Albiero and Looze had a hand in creating this nightmare? I heard they were on the CSCAA board that brought this about.
