Oakland’s Marko Khotynetskyi and Katie Colwell earned Swimmer of the Week honors, while UIC’s Felix LaFortune and Cydney Liebenberg were named the Divers.
Brunzell went on to swim a 1:00.80 to win the 100 breast, posting great splits of 28.88 and 31.92.
The Oakland men’s and women’s swim and dive teams had no problems against Wayne State in their home pool at Matthaei Center Natatorium.

The Oakland men opened the regular season with a win against Milwaukee (209-91), while the women topped Milwaukee (232-68) and Vanderbilt (176-118) Friday.
On the men’s side, the Gold team edged the Black team 56-50, while the women on the Black squad won 68-37 over the Gold team at the Oakland Intrasquad meet.
The Oakland University Golden Grizzlies successfully defended their Horizon League team titles again this year, winning the women’s and men’s meets both handily.
The Golden Grizzlies won 5 of the 10 events on Day 2, including both relays, and saw a total of 19 individual A final appearances.

The Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving team captured its fourth dual meet win of the season at Oakland University, 190-110.
