How To See Splits From The 2016 Olympic Games

2016 RIO OLYMPIC GAMES

One of the most asked questions to the SwimSwam staff during the 2016 Olympic Games so far have been how to see splits from the races. Here is a step-by-step guide to ensure that you’re able to see all the splits.

STEP ONE:

Click the following link here. This link will take you to the official Rio 2016 Olympic Games site. You’re in the specific section for swimming “downloads” so you can access plenty of PDFs with information including split times.

STEP TWO:

Fill in the information.

Where it says “SPORT” fill in “Swimming”

Where it says “EVENT” select the event that you want to see splits for

Ignore the option that says “EVENT UNIT”

It should look like this:

STEP THREE:

Once you’ve selected all the information you want, there will be several reports below. Here’s a search we did for the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay:

There are several options to click from. Click the option that says “RESULT SUMMARY.” This option will only be available once the results have been officially updated. Usually it isn’t immediately after the event and takes a while.

The results summary should look like the following screen shot below, giving you all the splits you need:

Is there a way to still access these splits. The link in step 1 is expired.

If you want to see results from a couple days ago, forget it! I don’t understand why Omega isn’t doing results since they are doing the timing and they are a sponsor?

I’m glad they figured out a simple interface.

Alas, an intuitive “user-friendly” interface was low on the site designer’s list of priorities.

(Yes, I’ve bumbled through the site as well.)

That exact scenerio that you brought us through should give us an option for the Finals Relay. It didn’t. What did I do wrong?
