Sports Authority of India ne National Centre of Excellence Scheme ke under Gandhi Nagar Ke SAI regional centre mein para centre established kiya hai. Sports Minister Anurag Thakur ne Parliament mein kaha.
Khelo India scheme ke tahat ‘promotion of sports among person with disabilities’ ke under state aur district level games ko support krne ke liye concerned national sports federation ko jisme Special Olympic Bharat, All India Sports Council of Deaf and Paralympics Committee of India shamil hai.
Khelo India ki hi ek aur scheme ‘talent search and development’ ke under, 29 para-athletes ko four para-sports disciplines ke liye identify kiya gaya hai. Inhe 10,000 per month ka pocket allowance diya jayega.
Iske addition mein Gandhi Nagar mein SAI ne para centre bhi open kiya hai. Ye centre athletics, swimming, powerlifting aur table tennis jaise disciplines ke liye operational hai.
Yaha par selected athletes ko har tarah ka support provide kiya jayega. Ye initiative country ke across rural aur urban dono areas mei rahengi.
