16-year-old Rylee Erisman had a strong in-season showing at the Westmont Pro Swim, finishing 2nd in the 50, 100, and 200 free as well as 9th in the 400 free. Speaking with SwimSwam at the meet, Erisman shared a 4-week progression she had just finished the Monday before coming to Illinois.
On a Monday afternoon, she started with 4×400 off the blocks. The next Monday, she did 4×300, the next Monday 4×200, and the Monday before Westmont, she suited up and did 4×100 (one of them was all out), where she went 46.9 (scy).

She is going to a very very good swimmer.
What the helly?
are you serious 46.9 in practice????
Bro how…
Coach Kyle has a “notoriously” slow finger.
Think really hard about this. Even with a slow finger, she’s what, half a second slower? Ridiculous swim regardless of you opinion on its accuracy
Any coach who gives swimmers intentionally fast times in practice when that swimmer is of a level where they might be interviewed but doesn’t account for that when deciding to give them a fast time isn’t doing their job lol.
