Psych sheets have been released for the 2017 CIF Los Angeles City Section Championships. Finals of the swimming events will take place on May 12th at East Los Angeles College in Los Angeles, California. Diving will be contested on May 10th at Palisades Charter high School. The top 3 finishers in each event will qualify for the CIF State Meet.

Palisades’ junior Dora Seggelke and senior Kian Brouwer will look to defend their titles after Seggelke won her 200/500 free double and Brouwer won his 200 free/100 fly double in 2016. Seggelke returns for a rematch with San Pedro sophomore Ema Kakazu after last season’s close finish in the 200 free. Kakazu will look to defend her own title in the 100 fly after out-touching Venice’s Alyssa Berman by 2 hundredths last season.

San Pedro junior Audrey Steen, the LA City 100 back record holder, will opt out of the 100 back this season in favor of the 100 fly. She will, however, take a shot at defending her 200 IM title, as she’s entered as the #1 seed in that event.
