The team of Philippe Guertin, Eric Hedlin and Zsofi Balazs crossed the finish line at Moll de la Fusta in 57:13.7, good for 12th in the race.

Zsofi Balazs breaks into top 20 in open water battle
“That was probably one of the hardest 10k’s I’ve done,” said Balazs, who turned 23 earlier this month. “It’s one of the ones that I’m most proud of also. Everyone stayed together the entire time. Sascha Klein (featured image credit: Lars Bormann) and Patrick Hausding enlisted a major upset when the best Yuan Cao and Yanquan Zhang for the title, earning Germany’s second medal of the championships.
