As a 200flyer/200backstroker I would love a 800medley relay

The 800m medley relay would be too difficult to fit into the schedule without creating horrible clashes.

Surrendering control of Olympic qualifying to WA is questionable. I get the benefit of early buy-in for the sport with early qualifying, but now there are basically two OT’s, with World Cup being odd in that is will force it to be a mirror-Olympiad, with every county qualifying over just two meets? Quite a lot to plan for if you are a 50 & 100 swimmer. Will the 50 free qualifying be at World Cup too, or just strokes?

Mel, I appreciate the transparency you show by stating you applied for the position. I think that shows where your heart is at and in an ideal world (ha) the board listens to what you and the other three Olympic Champions you mentioned have to say.

I don’t think they listened….and I hope my concerns and fears for the 3 years are unfounded.
