Mahoney wasn’t done there. The captain also claimed the 100-yard freestyle in 51.00 –just 0.200 seconds off the pool record set by former Wildcat Liza Baykova (2017)– and anchored the Wildcats’ runner-up 400 free relay (3:34.32). She teamed with junior captain Grace Mahon (Orange, Conn.), freshman Madeline Chen (California, Md.), and sophomore Amelia Labno (Rosemount, Minn.) in that effort.
UNH (1-0, 1-0 America East) dominated the breaststroke events behind freshman Anna Mikish (Kharkiv, Ukraine), who swept the 100 breast (1:05.24) and 200 breast (2:18.20), then capped her day with a win in the 200 IM (2:08.68). Junior Emily Loren Wright (Ventura, Calif.) added second-place finishes in both breaststroke races.
“This was a great team effort,” said UNH head coach Josh Willman. “Audrey’s record swim set the tone early, and we saw strong performances across every event. It’s exciting to see the depth and energy this group brings.”
In the butterfly, Mahon led a 1-2 punch for the Wildcats, winning the 200 fly (2:05.76) and 100 fly (56.73), with sophomore Maddie Serfass (Hershey, Pa.) close behind in both.
Distance standout Carolyn Nelson (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) paced UNH in the long races; the senior captain placed second in the 500 free (5:09.69) and 1000 free (10:34.29), while freshman Miriam Youel (West Hartford, Conn.) was runner-up in the 200 free (1:56.65).
On the boards, junior Grace Blume (Dedham, Mass.) swept diving with scores of 254.33 on 1-meter and 264.53 on 3-meter.
Other top finishes included:
•Labno: second in the 100 back (59.08).
•Freshman Kelsey Mayers (Waxhaw, N.C.): runner-up in the 200 back (2:07.58).
•UNH’s 200 medley relay opened the meet with a win in 1:46.01 (Labno, Wright, Mahon, Mahoney).

•The UNH swimming and diving team opens the home portion of its season when it welcomes Central Connecticut State to Swasey Pool for Family Weekend. The Wildcats and Blue Devils square off Friday, Oct. 24, at 5pm and complete the two-day meet Saturday, Oct. 25, at 11am. The meet will be live streamed on America East TV.
BASIC NEEDS COAT DRIVE – FAMILY WEEKEND VS CCSU
• In partnership with the Basic Needs Support program, UNH Athletics is seeking winter clothing donations from fans during Family Weekend. Volunteers will be collecting gently used (in good condition) or new coats as well as new hats, gloves or scarves in the Field House lobby during the UNH/CCSU meet.

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Amy Kenworthy won two events Saturday for the Catamounts in their Rally Against Cancer Meet presented by Mascoma Bank. Vermont won six events on the afternoon, but New Hampshire won the battle of the last two America East Champions with a 167-133 score.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kenworthy, a first year, won her first career race in the 1000 Free in the second event of the day. Her time of 10:19.51 was 14.38 seconds faster than the nearest competition.
- Next up Anastazja Szukala won the 200 Free in the next race for the Catamounts. She recorded a time of 1:56.62, .03 seconds faster than UNH’s top swimmer. It was her third career win.
- Vermont stayed hot in the early going with Natalie Schick winning the fourth event of the day claiming the 100 Back with a time of 58.58. She topped the nearest competition by .50 seconds.
- Jocelyn LeGere won the 200 Back for Vermont with a time of 2:07.27. It was her fourth career win in the event; she also placed third at the 2025 AE Championships in the event.
- Kenworthy earned her second win of the day in the 500 Free. Her time of 5:08.17 was 1.52 seconds faster than the nearest competitor.
- The Catamounts closed out the afternoon with a 400 Freestyle Relay win. Szukala, Michaela Miller, Havana Layton, and Zoe Webster finished in a time of 3:31.85. They topped UNH’s top group by 2.47 seconds.
WHO’S NEXT
The Catamounts return to action in two weeks as they travel to Maine for another America East dual meet on Saturday, November 1. The action from Stanley M. Wallace Pool is slated for 11 a.m.
