Following a standout performance at FIU, Liberty sophomore Aly Bozzuto has been named American Conference Swimming Athlete of the Week.

Bozzuto, a native of Jupiter, Fla., is the first Liberty student-athlete to receive a weekly honor from the American Conference. She was named Atlantic Sun Swimmer of the Week twice as a freshman (Oct. 16, 2024 and Nov. 13, 2024).

She helped the Lady Flames to a 219-209 win at American Conference foe FIU, Friday and Saturday.

The sophomore claimed three individual-event victories and swimming on one winning relay. She won the 50 breaststroke in 28.30, the fastest 50 breaststroke time of any American Conference swimmer so far this season. Her winning 200 breaststroke time of 2:15.08 was more than three seconds faster than the second-place finisher in her race on Friday and is the second fastest 200 breaststroke time overall in the conference this season. She swam 1:03.17 to win the 100 breaststroke.

On Friday, she opened the meet by swimming 27.90 for the second leg of the 200 medley relay, pushing Liberty into the lead with the fastest second-leg split in the pool that day. Bozzuto also swam the fastest second-leg split in the 400 medley relay, 1:03.21, helping Liberty to the win.

The Lady Flames will host the seventh annual TYR ’85 Invite, Nov. 21-23 at Liberty Natatorium.
