Lady Vols Pick Up Euro Juniors Diving Medalist Luisa Fragoeiro Arco for 2026-27

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Luisa Fragoeiro Arco from Lisbon, Portugal, has signed a scholarship agreement with the University of Tennessee for 2026-27. She wrote on social media:

Beyond excited to announce I am continuing my journey at the University of Tennessee @vol_swimdive !!🧡🧡 This wouldn’t be possible without the support of so many people. Thank you to my family for always pushing me to keep striving for more and cheering me on every step of the way❤️ Thank you to my coach @davidflewwelling , I’m so grateful for you and all you have done for me. Thank you for never giving up on me, encouraging me to always try my best, teaching me so many life lessons, and inspiring me. Obrigada a @fpnatacao por terem acreditado em mim e por me continuarem a dar a oportunidade de realizar o meu sonho de representar Portugal. Thank you to @janefig1218 and @the_coachmike for this amazing opportunity!! I’m so pumped for this next chapter! And finally thank you to my friends, my teammates, to every person that’s ever believed in me! #govols🍊

Fragoeiro Arco has been representing Portugal on the international stage since 2022. She achieved notoriety at the 2023 European Junior Diving Championship in Rijeka, Croatia, placing 2nd in the platform event with 351.15 points and winning her country’s first-ever Euro Juniors diving medal.

She also competed at the 2024 World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships in 3m springboard (13th place) and 10m platform (19th); the 2024 LEN European Championships in 3m springboard (14th) and 10m platform (14th); and the 2024 Canada Cup of Diving in 3m springboard (10th) and 10m platform (8th).

Tennessee has invested in the success of its diving program, hiring legendary coach Jane Figueiredo to replace outgoing head diving coach Dave Parrington last April.

Fragoeiro Arco will join fellow diver Isabel Baley (ranked #1 in the class) and swimmers Charlotte Crush (#1), Molly Sweeney (#4), Eliza Wallace (#16), Mia Buff (“BOTR”), Leah Tigert, and Madison Kryger in the Tennessee class of 2030.
