Kade Snyder (Boys), Chloe Kim (Girls) Drop ‘B’ Finals In Favor Of Other Events On Night 3

There are no scratches from any ‘A’ final swims for tonight but numerous scratches from ‘B’ final swimmers. Kade Snyder swam the 13th fastest time in prelims of the boys 200 backstroke with a 2:04.37 but has scratched for tonight.

Snyder drops the event in favor of the 100 fly where he will swim out of the ‘C’ final after posting the 18th fastest time of the morning with a 54.94. That dropped 0.83 from his entry time. After posting a best time last night in the 400 IM, Yi Zheng of Carmel Swim Club has scratched the ‘D’ final of the 200 back and has no other individual races tonight.

Also dropping a ‘B’ final swim is Chloe Kim who swam the 16th fastest time in prelims in the girls 200 back with a 2:17.40. Kim instead will focus on the 400 freestyle where she is the #3 seed tonight after swimming a 4:15.68 in prelims. Her best time is a 4:15.02 from March. Taylor Klein is the other scratch in the girls 200 back as she swam the 23rd fastest time of the morning (2:18.11) and has the ‘B’ final of the 100 fly tonight.

The girls 100 butterfly features a scratch from Elle Scott who posted a 1:01.67 this morning, the 25th fastest time in prelims. She was the #6 seed with a 59.90 entry time. She has no other individual swims tonight.

Ethan Schutten posted a 4:00.87 in the boys 400 free this morning, the 30th fastest time of prelims. That dropped two seconds off his lifetime best of a 4:02.67 that he swam in Irvine at last summer’s Summer Championships.
