Summary: In addition to leading skill-based swim and water safety instruction to people of all ages and abilities, the Program Manager is responsible for the daily operations at a specific location. Program Managers are expected to be in the water, teaching lessons approximately 30 hours per week, with additional administrative duties being performed during unscheduled time. The Program Manager always maintains constant supervision of Swim Instructors and students to ensure safety, while promoting the potential of all students in the program. The Program Manager is also accountable for promoting the program to encourage and boost enrollments, creating encouraging relationships with Swim Instructors and students, and building cooperative relationships with parents and caregivers.

• Manages and owns all aspects of daily operations at a specific location
• Leads all levels of group or private lessons while enforcing policies, rules, and regulations
• Maintains constant supervision of students, identifies students who need assistance, and supports students as necessary to ensure a positive learning environment
• Maintains positive and nurturing relationships with parents, caregivers, and other staff, handling customer conflict and complaints as necessary
• Adheres to policies and procedures in employee handbook, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency incidents
• Helps to create new approaches to serve the needs of program participants
• Oversees, trains, and coaches Swim Instructors
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma and 5+ years swim experience
• Must have and maintain CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding Certificates
• Must have and maintain clean CORI and SORI background check
• Ability to recognize students who may need assistance
• Ability to recognize and remedy hazardous and dangerous situations
• Ability to work independently and possess energy and enthusiasm
• Ability to demonstrate skills as required for class content and use teaching aids such as kickboards, diving rings, lifejackets, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 7+ years of experience as a swim instructor
• 3+ years of experience as a swim team coach or on a competitive swim team
Work Environment: The Program Manager must remain indoors at a facility pool with water and air temperatures of 75 degrees or higher at all times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to chemicals and fumes
Physical Demands: Walks, runs, sits, stands, bends, lifts, swims and moves continually during working hours; is subject to lifting over 30 pounds. Must remain alert and able to recognize distress signals.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position and hours will vary; evenings and weekends are required. In partnership with the Owner, the Program Manager will supervise and coach Swim Instructors and other staff that are teaching at their location.
