Israeli National Record-Holder Eden Pescara to Join Grand Canyon in 2020

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Eden Pescara, who was part of Israel’s 4×200 free relay national record performance from 2016, has committed to Grand Canyon University in Arizona for this fall. She’ll join their class of 2024.

TOP TIMES (LCM / SCY conv.)

  • 50 free – 26.64 / 23.27
  • 100 free – 57.41 / 50.27
  • 200 free – 2:05.16 / 1:49.87
  • 200 IM – 2:17.28 / 2:00.79

Pescara is a strong sprint freestyler with a nice 200 IM, too. She should make an immediate and sizable impact on the GCU program; she would’ve been their best 100 freestyler by over a full second with her converted time there. She also would’ve been their top 200 IM’er last season and #2 in the 50 free and 200 free.

GCU’s women finished third at the 2020 Western Athletic Conference Championships behind Northern Arizona and California Baptist. Pescara would’ve won the 200 IM at that meet with her converted time, and she would’ve been top eight in all three sprint free events, too.

Pescara joins Madeline Vindiola and Ellie Mercer in GCU’s class of 2024.
