The Fordham University Rams have picked up verbal commitment from Gregory Lombana of the Marlins of Raleigh swim club in Raleigh, NC. He joined the  club because wanted to work under coach Paul Silver, where he individually worked on critiquing each stroke for better overall results.

Lombana ended last season by getting a Winter Junior National cut in the 200 fly with a 2:07.81 LCM. He also made two Winter Jr. B Cuts when he improved his 400 IM LCM to a 4:41.59  and dropped 12 seconds in the 200 back LCM to give him a time of 2:10.76. After a successful long course season, he says, “I am super excited to see what I can do short course being on the Marlins of Raleigh to prepare me to be a striking force in the Atlantic 10 conference.”

“I loved the team chemistry and campus at Fordham University. They have a terrific mix of academics and athletics along with experienced coaches and good training. Super excited to swim for Fordham! Go Rams!” -Lombana

Lombana’s best times are as follows:

  • 200-yard backstroke: 1:55.00
  • 200-yard IM: 1:58.15
  • 400-yard IM: 4:04.88
  • 100-yard butterfly: 53.31
  • 200-yard butterfly: 1:54.53

Lombana’s best times would have placed him on the Rams men’s swimming 2014-15 season top-six times twice. His best 200-yard backstroke would place him 2nd and his best 400-yard IM would place him 4th.
