PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers Scarlet Knights hosted the Rutgers’ Platform Invitational on Saturday morning, an additional opportunity for RU’s divers to compete on the Platform before the Big Ten Championships later this month. Rutgers had the top two divers and three of the top four scorers on the day.

Katerina Hoffman won the event, scoring a 292.70. The score was her new best mark as a Scarlet Knight in the platform event. That mark places her sixth all-time in Rutgers’ career top-10 list.

Bailee Sturgill was second on the day, scoring a 280.70. Gianna Lawrence took fourth with a 238.65. Lawrence just missed joining RU’s all-time top-10 list, with her score ranking just behind Amelia Scott’s 10th place score of 238.80 set last month.

The Scarlet Knights boast a strong diving program, with the team placing eighth nationally in the most recent US PDCA Coaches Poll, which was released on December 22. This was the final competition for RU before the Big Ten Championships. This year’s conference championships will be held at the University of Minnesota from Feb. 18-21.
