It was a historic day two of the 2026 Australian Age Championships with multiple new lifetime bests, Australian Age Records and All Comers Age Records biting the dust among the nation’s rising stars.

We reported on three of the big swims on the night, with Lincoln Wearing, Quinn Richards and Sienna Toohey each making their presence known and stealing the spotlight in their respective events.

Wearing ripped a lifetime best of 7:56.04 to take the 800m free title for 16-year-olds, while Richards’ time of 1:03.65 in the 100m breast made him Australia’s first-ever 14-year-old to clear the 1:04 barrier in the race.

17-year-old Toohey’s time of 1:06.43 moves her closer to Olympic icon Leisel Jones‘ longstanding Aussie Age Record.

There were additional notable swims on both the boys’ and girls’ sides as the night’s action unfolded.

18-year-old Hayley Mackinder produced a time of 1:09.23 in her age category’s 100m breast to put Griffith on the board. Mackinder defeated Ava Rollason of Cruiz, who hit 1:10.34 followed by Ella Mounter who logged 1:11.04 for bronze.

Mackinder is training under storied British coach Mel Marshall, who guided Olympic champion and world record holder Adam Peaty for most of his career.

Henry Allan turned in a stellar 200m free performance to follow up his head-turning 200m backstroke performance from night one.

The 17-year-old delivered a mark of 1:48.80 as the sole finalist to clear the 1:50 benchmark. He split 25.54/27.93 (53.47)/28.44/26.89 for the victory.

Brisbane Jets’ Charlie Austin hit 1:50.01 as the silver medalist and Oliver McCormack wrangled up a 3rd-place finish in 1:51.57.

As for Allan, his time tonight ripped his former personal best to shreds. That previous PB was 1:52.10, set just this past February at the Vic Open Championships.
