FSU’s Hensley, Miami’s Algee Earn ACC Swimmer of the Week Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Florida State swimmer Cole Hensley and diving teammates Tyler Roberge and Cassidy Gebhart, along with Miami swimmer Angela Algee, earned the first Atlantic Coast Conference swimming and diving weekly honors of the 2015-16 season following strong performances at the All-Florida Invite.

Hensley took ACC Male Swimmer of the Week honors after posting a first-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 1:48.74. He also finished the weekend with third-place finishes in both the 400 free and 200 free relays and a fourth-place finish in the 100 fly.

Roberge finished first in the men’s 3-meter and third in the men’s 1-meter to take ACC Male Diver of the Week honors. His NCAA qualifying score of 352.05 on the 3-meter placed him ahead of all competition, while his score of 287.70 placed him six point shy of winning the event.

Miami’s Algee was this week’s ACC Female Swimmer of the Week after posting three top-5 finishes. She placed second in the 100 fly with a time of 55.00 and third in the 200 fly with a time of 2:03.22 before finishing fourth in the 50 free. Algee also swam in four relays, posting splits that ranked second-fastest in the field in all four races.

Gebhart earned ACC Female Diver of the Week honors after finishing fifth in both the 1- and 3-meter competitions. The freshman led the Seminoles in scoring on 1-meter in her first collegiate meet and finished behind Florida State sophomore Caroline Gerhardt on 3-meter.
