FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State swim and dive head coach Jeanne Fleck announced the hiring of Taylor Moore as the program’s assistant coach on Tuesday.

“I am so excited to have Taylor join our staff,” Fleck said. “He will be a great addition and I look forward to learning new things from him and having him help us take the next steps to becoming conference champions!”

Arriving in Fresno after three seasons on staff at University of the Pacific, Moore is a former swimmer and record holder for the Tigers who set the program record in the 800 Freestyle Relay.

“I am incredibly excited to be joining the Fresno State swim and dive program,” Moore said. “The culture that Coach Fleck and her staff have created is remarkable, and I look forward to bringing my own energy into the team as we continue to strive for academic and athletic excellence, Go ‘Dogs!”

During his time at UOP, Moore helped the Tigers to an Olympic Trials qualifier, three NCAA B-Cut qualifiers, a school record holder and 38 Top-10 all time marks in program history.

Prior to his time at UOP, Moore served as the head age group coach/senior sprint coach for Spare Time Aquatics Sacramento. During his tenure, the program saw three top 10 national swimmers, 38 team records, three Sierra Nevada League records, 2017 Most Improved Program and top three program accolades for 2018 and 2019.

He also coached at Rio Americano High School in Sacramento helping lead the Raiders to three straight CAL league championships, four section records, 15 state qualifiers, 11 school records and 15 All-Americans.

After graduating from Pacific in 2015, Moore came back to Stockton as a volunteer assistant for the 2017-18 year that saw five NCAA qualifiers and 12 school records broken for one of the best mid-major swim programs in the country.

The Sacramento native spent five years as a student-athlete in the Pacific Swim and Dive program, highlighted by a school record in the 800 Freestyle Relay. Moore was also a two-time section champion at Jesuit High School in Sacramento and a six-time All-American as a prep.

Moore graduated from Pacific in May of 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication.
