Buffalo’s Bernhardt Elevated to Associate Head Coach

BUFFALO, NYWill Bernhardt has been elevated to associate head coach of the University at Buffalo men’s and women’s swimming and diving team, head coach Andy Bashor announced on Thursday. Entering his fourth season on the staff, Bernhardt will now oversee alumni relations, including starting and maintaining an alumni newsletter as well as help with fundraising efforts.

“This is acknowledgement of Will’s time and efforts to help elevate the program over the past four years,” Bashor said. “He deserves this recognition and he will help further the program in his new role.”

Since arriving at UB in 2011, Bernhardt has helped coach an All-American, 31 Mid-American Conference Champions and 18 MAC Relay Champions. UB swimmers have set 41 school records, 12 MAC records and have established an NCAA B-Cut time on 66 separate occasions.

The 2015-16 UB swimming and diving season begins on Oct. 2 at the Florida Gulf Coast Invite.
