August 15th, 2017 College, NAIA

After one year at the helm of the Biola University Swim & Dive program Emily Mosbacher accepted an assistant coaching position at a NCAA Division I institution in Colorado, leaving the Eagles’ head coaching position open heading into the 2017-18 school year.

Mosbacher led Biola through its final season in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and has actively recruited a strong team to launch the Eagles’ NCAA Division II era. In 2016-17 she coached the NAIA’s Female Swimmer of the Year in Lisa Tixier, who returns for her senior season this year. She also helped Shane Brinson to his second-straight NAIA Male Diver of the Year honor.

“We are so proud of the tradition of success that coach Mosbacher helped continue in her year serving Biola,” said Associate Athletic Director Eddie Shepard. “We are excited to see a Biola alum move into the highest level of collegiate athletics and wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors.”

Mosbacher’s departure leaves Biola with an immediate need for a new head coach to get the program through the coming season. An interim position (through March 2018) is now posted on Biola’s human resources job board. Biola is a provisional member of the NCAA Division II and its swim & dive program competes in the Pacific Collegiate Swim & Dive Conference. View more about the program at its home page.
