Skyler King grew up in a swimming family, the son of a coach. He swam for 13 years through high school and even returned to serve as an assistant coach under his father for 2 seasons at Hinsdale Central in the Chicago Suburbs. For the last 4 years he has covered high school swimming in Illinois including serving as the broadcaster for the Illinois boys and girls state swim meets.
