Lexi Mendes:
Lexi was raised not too far from Duke in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Growing up with two older brothers who swam, Lexi jumped into swimming as well. Growing up, she swam for North Carolina Aquatic Club before swimming for Chapel Hill High School. While in high school she was conference swimmer of the year along with being Academic All American her senior year. And although both her brothers swam from North Carolina, Lexi decided to move down the road and continue her career at Duke.
Club:
Lexi was a part of the North Carolina Aquatic Club where she was runner-up at the Trinidad International Open Water Championships.
College:
2012-2013:
During her freshman year, Lexi competed at the Cavalier Invite for her championship meet where she had a best time in her 200 back.
2013-2014:
Her sophomore year, Lexi finished the season with two best times in the 100 and 200 back as a part of the Cavalier Invite team.
Personal:
Lexi is majoring in Public Policy while at Duke and hopes to do work in this field one day.
