Alex Walsh Says NCAA Team Title is “A whole team effort”, Goes Beyond Those Racing

2023 NCAA WOMEN’S SWIMMING AND DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Virginia juniors Alex Walsh and Maxine Parker discuss what an NCAA championship means to them. “For us, this championship means all the work that has been put in this whole season,” says Walsh, “so whether your last meet is the Cav Invite, ACC’s or NC’s, you still get that ring.” Walsh also shares details about her 200 fly swim, Parker accredits the team’s support for her success this year.

What a mature perspective from Alex on the contributions of the entire team. It seems like a great group of women there in Charlottesville.

Maxine Parker almost qualified for the “A” final of the 100 FR. That would have been another coup for Todd DeSorbo.

Time to turn the page and focus on long course meters. With that said, a list of potential events for Alex Walsh to swim at the 2023 USA Swimming International Team Trials is noted below:

Day 1
200 FL

Day 2
200 BR or 200 FR

Day 3
400 IM (embrace the challenge)

Day 4
100 BR

Day 5
200 IM (no brainer)

I don’t know if she’s been training enough for the LCM 400 IM to make the team yet, but I really would love to see her in it

Transferring to Virginia definitely seems like it was the right move for Maxine. Huge best times for her this weekend
