Day 3 Finals Heat Sheet
We’re on the penultimate night of the 2026 Pro Swim Series in Westmont, and we have the highest-seeded scratch of the meet so far.
Dutch swimmer Sean Niewold, who is in his first season swimming for the University of Alabama, was the top seed in the 100 fly this morning after swimming a personal best time of 51.83, including a rapid 23.53 opening 50. He swam a 50 free time trial after the prelims session today, posting a time of 21.66 which ranks him as the second-fastest Dutch swimmer in history behind Thom de Boer.
Indiana swimmer Finn Brooks also scratches out of the 100 fly as the #10 seed after swimming 53.81 this morning, off his best of 51.90. He placed 5th in the 50 fly on Night 1 in 23.56, but has no other swims tonight.
Taylor Ruck (#9) and Emma Weyant (#14) have scratched the 200 free ‘B’ final tonight, likely focusing on their 50 free and 200 IM swims tomorrow, respectively. Ruck missed the ‘A’ final this morning by just 0.28 seconds, posting 2:00.72, but was let down by a 32.05 final 50.
There is one scratch in the ‘B’ final of the 200 free from Canada’s Finlay Knox (#14) after he swam 1:51.08 this morning, but the bigger news for that event is that the ‘A’ final will have nine swimmers. Lucas Henveaux and Kieran Smith both posted times of 1:48.45 this morning, and will be in lanes 1 and 9 respectively tonight.
Neither of the 100 breaststroke finals see any scratches, with Kate Douglass (1:06.41) and Jack Kelly (59.97) the top seeds there.
There are two scratches out of the fastest heat of the women’s 1500 free, with #4 Kayla Han prioritising the 200 free tonight where she is in lane 1 in the ‘B’ final after swimming 2:03.04 this morning, and #5 Caroline Pennington also scratching. The men’s side sees #7 seed Santi Alzate, a Florida commit, scratching out.
