Michigan’s Hannah Bellard broke her own Big Ten record and Olivia Carter‘s Big Ten meet record as Bellard touched in a 1:50.34 en route to a win. Bellard’s previous Big Ten recod was a 1:50.72 that she swam in January while Carter’s meet record of a 1:52.17 stood since 2022.

Compared to her own record, Bellard was faster tonight on the first 100 with the biggest difference coming on her first 50 as she was 0.75 seconds faster going out.

With her swim tonight, Bellard moves up to become the #8 performer in history. She moved up two spots after previously sitting as the #10 performer all-time. She now holds the top spot in the NCAA this season, just in front of Campbell Stoll of Texas who became the #9 performer this week at the SEC Championships.
