The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released their February dual meet polls, and the Virginia women continue their reign in the top spot of the leaderboard.

The Virginia women finished their dual meet season undefeated, and they seem primed to earn their 6th straight ACC Conference Title later this month.
There has been one major shift in the rest of the top five, with the Stanford women jumping Texas to rank 2nd for the first time this season. This comes after Stanford also finished their season undefeated while the Texas women dropped a dual meet to Louisville during the Eddie Reese Showdown at the end of January.
Texas drops to 3rd and Michigan and Cal retain their positions at 4th and 5th respectively.
Despite earning the upset over the Texas women, the Louisville women dropped a spot to rank 7th in February after sitting in 6th last month. Anastasia Gorbenko has been a huge addition to the Louisville team during the 2nd half of the season, contributing major points to their win in Austin. They now sit behind Indiana, who defeated them in a dual meet the following week.
Indiana jumped up to 6th from their 9th ranking last season after the very strong performances by standout freshman Liberty Clark to close out the dual meet season.
There wasn’t a ton of shifting down the rest of the lift, with a few teams swapping places or jumping one spot. UCLA and Minnesota both earned spots on the list after being left off last month with UCLA coming in at 22nd and Minnesota slotting in at 25th. They bump Texas A&M and Northwestern off with the Aggies receiving 13 votes and Northwestern receiving 7.

Texas still massively overrated
They are 3rd in the swimulator NCAAs projections right now, and that doesn’t include diving where they return an NCAA champion. Maybe they fall slightly if they lay their usual egg at NCAAs, but I think ‘massively overrated’ is a stretch
I know but this is a dual meet poll and they just got fair and square beaten by Louisville
Stanford swept the relays against Texas at the 2025 Texas Hall of Fame Invitational.
Texas should and will be higher in Power Rankings.
Texas and Louisville should be at least closer, if not flipped, in dual meet rankings.
How did that work out last year for the University of Texas (women’s swimming)?
You forgot about the Texas two-step:
Peak in Oct/Nov, Crater in Mar.
How did what work out? They finished 3rd at NCAAs, which was higher than Louisville.
They probably meant how all the reporters on this site picked Texas second in the final poll last year only for them to finish not second. Sounds like history is repeating.

The University of Michigan women’s swimming program has yet to post a time in the 4 x 200 FR-R during the 2025-2026 NCAA Season.
Do they lay an egg, or is it that they just don’t get broken down so much during the season that there isn’t a big drop at the end of season with a taper? I’ve seen different teams do that over the years. They swim fast all year, so by the time March rolls around, they are already as fast as they were going to be.
