Brown Women Win Every Event Against Cornell, Big Red Men Victorious Over Bears

ITHACA, N.Y. – Brown women’s swimming and diving (5-3, 3-3 Ivy) won its third consecutive dual on Saturday as the Bears dominated their way to a 229-71 victory over Cornell (2-6, 1-6 Ivy) at Teagle Pool. Brown swept all 16 events during the two-day dual that featured Natalie Garre shattering the 1000 free program record, and Amie Barrow setting a Teagle Pool standard in the 200 breaststroke.

Garre set a new top mark for Brown, finishing the 1000 free in 9:49.48. Earlier this season, she broke the program record that stood since 2014 (9:52.19). Barrow’s 2:14.69 performance in the 200 breaststroke broke the previous Teagle Pool record of 2:14.82.

Nadia ThomasAngelina ChenEva McIver-Jenkins, and Morgan Lukinac won the 200-yard medley with a time of 1:41.00.

Kelly Dolce won the 200 free for the second time this season, this time in 1:49.41.

Emilia Barck’s 54.86 in the 100 backstroke was tops at Teagle Pool on Saturday.

Barrow won the 100 breaststroke for the second time this season with a time of 1:02.85.
Beatrice Stewart earned her first individual event victory in the 100 butterfly, finishing in 2:00.92.

Crystal Yuen collected her sixth individual event win on Saturday and first in the 50 free (22.72).
Isabella George earned her third 3-meter dive victory, picking up a 311.63 score.

Dolce added her second win of the day in the 100 free, as did Barck in the 200 backstroke.

Garre added a win in the 500 free, finishing in 4:49.47. The win was her seventh overall individually and third in the 500.

Lilian Klinginsmith won the 100 butterfly (54.24), her second time earning the 100 fly win this season.

Elena Yeh won the 1-meter dive for the third time in 2025-26, collecting a score of 277.80.

Sumner Chmielewski won the 200-yard IM for the second time this season (2:02.46).

Yuen, Isabella DieffenthallerAudrey Chung, and Lukinac won the 400 free to cap the day, finishing in 3:21.32.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Brown men’s swimming and diving (2-6, 1-6 Ivy) won five events in the two-day dual at Cornell, falling to Cornell (4-4, 3-4 Ivy) 173-127 at Teagle Pool.

Rowland Lawver collected his 13th and 14th individual event wins, earning top scores in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives. The senior has now won each event seven times this season.

Marton Nagy earned his 10th individual victory of the season and fourth in the 200 IM (1:48.37).

Christopher Zhang collected his fourth 100 freestyle victory of 2025-26, finishing in 44.60.

Matt Williamson won the 1000 free in 9:11.18.

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell women’s swimming and diving team fell to the Brown Bears 229-71 in a two-day meet on Friday and Saturday at Teagle Pool. The Big Red dropped to 2-6 on the season, while the Bears improved to 5-3.

The meet opened with the 200-yard medley relay, where Cornell’s A relay of Hojung YoonAudrey Holden, Mingna Xu, and Kate Li finished second in 1:41.98. Cornell also earned points with its B relay placing fifth.

In the distance freestyle events, Erin DeHollander led the Big Red with a third-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, touching in 10:22.22. Arina Vorobyeva followed in fifth. DeHollander later added a fifth-place finish in the 500 freestyle, while Jungmin Yoon placed fourth in the event.

Kate Li recorded a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.11), while Natalia Strezenicky Franko and Jasmine Xu added fifth- and sixth-place finishes, respectively. In the backstroke events, Ming Xu placed second in the 100 back (55.25), and Rosalee Springer finished third in the 200 back (2:00.24).

Audrey Holden led Cornell in the breaststroke events, placing second in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.40) and sixth in the 200 breaststroke. Katie Ferreira added a fourth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke, while Hojung Yoon placed third in the 200 breaststroke.

In butterfly action, Katherine Yee finished fourth in the 200 butterfly, and Oceane Vanlinthout placed fourth in the 100 butterfly. Madeline Ferreira added a fifth-place finish in the 100 butterfly.

Cornell earned points on the boards in both diving events. Lilla Kuziemko placed second on the 3-meter with a score of 288.38, while Morgan Ogata finished third. Ogata again led the Big Red on the 1-meter, placing second with a score of 267.15, followed by Kuziemko in third.

The Big Red closed the meet with a second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as the team of Rosalee SpringerArina VorobyevaKate Li, and Jungmin Yoon touched in 3:24.16.

The Cornell women’s swimming and diving team will return to action on Wednesday, February 18tth for the Ivy League Championships. The Big Red will take the pool for four days of competitions at Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. The meet will be broadcast on ESPN+.

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell men’s swimming and diving team defeated the Brown Bears 173-127 in a two-day meet on Friday and Saturday at Teagle Pool. The Big Red improved to 4-4 on the season, while the Bears dropped to 2-6.

The Big Red opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay, as the team of Pietro UbertalliHaihan XuDaniel Simoes, and Josh Toothman touched first in 1:26.52. Cornell also earned points from its B relay, which placed second.

In the distance freestyle events, Julian Correa led Cornell with a win in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a time of 4:28.21. Correa also finished second in the 1000-yard freestyle. Owen Dankert and Duke Garvin added fifth- and sixth-place finishes, respectively, in the 1000 free.

Pietro Ubertalli captured first place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:36.98) and later won the 200-yard backstroke in 1:43.61. Blake Conway followed with a third-place finish in the 200 back. Conway also won the 100-yard backstroke earlier in the meet, touching in 46.95, while Gabe Anagnoson placed third.

Haihan Xu secured a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 53.19. Xu later placed first again in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:57.72), followed closely by Emmanuel Gadson in second. Phillip Osadsky added a fifth-place finish in the event.

Cornell dominated the butterfly events, led by Jacques Grove, who won both the 200-yard butterfly (1:46.24) and the 100-yard butterfly (47.51). Andrew Lin finished second in both events, while Leo Cerda placed fourth in the 200 butterfly.

In sprint freestyle action, Josh Toothman won the 50-yard freestyle in 19.97 and added a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle. Daniel Simoes followed closely, placing second in the 50 free and third in the 100 free.

On the boards, Max Reis-Trovillion led the Big Red with a third-place finish on the 3-meter, scoring 312.90, and a fourth-place finish on the 1-meter. William Klingensmith placed fifth in both diving events, while Peter Buskirk added a sixth-place finish on each board.

The meet concluded with the 400-yard freestyle relay, where Cornell’s A relay of Ubertalli, Simoes, Toothman, and Grove placed first in 2:57.65. The Big Red also earned second-place points from its B relay.

The Cornell men’s swimming and diving team will return to action on Saturday, February 7th against upstate New York foe LeMoyne College. The Big Red and the Dolphins are slated to begin competition at 11:00 a.m. at Teagle Pool.
