#1 ranked recruit in the high school class of 2026, Charlotte Crush, walked away from the Pro Swim in Austin with a win in the 200 Back (2:09.79). Even with the win, Crush said that her winter training has been quite taxing (and might not even be over yet).
She also gave us one of her hardest sets through the slog: 10×200, 10×150, 10×100, 10×50. Half of them (presumably every other one) is AFAP, or As Fast As Possible.

Mike Deboor was my coach in high school. Love that man to death. Great coach and mentor. But he knows I vehemently disagree with these types of sets lol. For some background, these sets were mostly done during Thanksgiving or Christmas break as we had a LOT of college athletes coming home and training with the team. So Mike did these to mimic what their college coaches would be doing, these weren’t the typical sets at Lakeside. Shout out to coach Mike!
That looks like as much fun as a poopy flavored lollipop!
This stuff makes sense. Not my style of training but it makes sense. By Jake G definition, the lake side coach isn’t a good coach 🤦
I’d love to hear someone’s argument that Mike DeBoor is not a good coach lol
Who is Jake G?
Not sure he would say he’s not a good coach…but his approach is different. My belief is that at Bolles, for the most part – you’re getting the cream of the crop – kids who have been built by other programs around the country until 13/14 with some level aerobic background and talent. I think you can “get away with” a much lower yardage approach there because the work has been done before they arrive.
Bolles had two individual swims at the 2024 Olympic Trials.
Saying Mike DeBoor isn’t a good coach is the dumbest thing I’ve heard in a long time
She’s crushing it!
She is a star just like her brother is with Army!
She’s amazing! This will be huge for the Vols
Very well spoken individual. Hopefully has some bright things ahead of her at Tennessee!
