A massive winter storm is expected to sweep across the eastern United States this weekend with the southern regions being particularly impacted by significant amounts of ice while Northeastern cities are being hit with snow.
According to CNN, more than 160 million people are currently under winter storm or ice storm alerts and 46 states are under a weather advisory. The storm is due to hit Friday in the Plains region before moving east through the weekend.
Due to the forecast, a number of Division I teams have adjusted their meet schedule to limit travel on Saturday.
Yesterday, SwimSwam reported a few different meets with schedule adjustements. UVA and NC State dropped their meet from a two-day dual to a single night on Friday. UGA and Tennessee rescheduled their meet for Friday from its originally planned Saturday, and Liberty and Campbell dropped their meet to a single day as well.
There were a few more schedule adjustments today.
- Virginia Tech will no longer be traveling to Princeton for a tri-meet with Penn State and Princeton on Saturday according to their Instagram.
- LSU and SMU canceled their meet due to severe weather. LSU will instead race an intrasquad on Saturday.
- North Texas and UTRGV canceled their Saturday meet.
Miami, Georgia Tech, and South Carolina have canceled their Saturday meet.- Miami-FL will not travel to Georgia Tech this weekend, but Georgia Tech will host South Carolina in a dual meet on Friday, moved up a day from the originally scheduled meet on Saturday.

Xavier has pulled out of their meet in Fishers. Host team Butler was still making adjustments and preparing to hold the invitational at last update.
Circle City Classic just revised timelines and cancelled Sunday. 12u cancelled on Sunday, prelim/finals scratched for all other events and switching to Sunday times finals on Saturday morning (Saturday events) and Saturday night (Sunday events).
Damn, I was really looking forward to Princeton v VT v PSU. (The meet is at Princeton, btw)
Well, at least the swimmers get sometime off from racing every other weekend, right???
