Winter Juniors ‘A’ Finalist Reese Reilly Commits to Duke for 2026-27

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Mason Manta Rays’ Reese Reilly, who hails from Cincinnati, Ohio, has signed a scholarship agreement with Duke University for the 2026-27 school year. She confirmed to SwimSwam:

“I chose Duke because it felt like the perfect environment to push me to be my best in and out of the pool. The combination of great coaching, a culture of excellence, close to family members and the opportunity to grow academically and athletically made it the right fit for me.”

Reilly is a senior at Roger Bacon High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society. She is a 2-time Ohio High School Division II state champion in the 100 breast. Her grandfather was also a 2-time high school state champion in the 100 breast; he swam in Kentucky in the 1960s.

At the 2025 OHSAA Division II Girls State Championship, she won the 100 breast (1:01.89) and was 3rd in the 200 IM (2:05.12); both times were lifetime bests. As a sophomore in 2024, she won the breast (1:03.76) and came in 5th in the IM (2:06.71).

Reilly notched PBs in the 100 breast (1:01.29), 200 breast (2:12.87), 100 fly (56.16) and 200 IM (2:04.68) earlier this month at Winter Juniors East. She placed 5th in the 100 breast and 7th in the 200 breast. She swam the breaststroke legs (28.34/1:01.03) on the RAYS’ medley relays.

Reilly had a big long-course season, as well. At various meets throughout the summer, she lowered her LCM bests in the 50/100/200 free, 50/100 back, 50/100 breast, and 50/100 fly. She wrapped up at Speedo Junior Nationals in Irvine, where she placed 39th in the 50 breast (33.23), 17th in the 100 breast (1:10.89), 11th in the 200 breast (2:33.17), and 138th in the 50 fly (29.46).

Third-year head coach Brian Barnes, who was tabbed to lead the Blue Devils in May 2023, is putting together one of the best recruiting classes in recent Duke history. In addition to Reilly, the Blue Devils’ class of 2030 will consist of swimmers Riley Anderson (#17), Quinn White (#19), Addison Bitel (“BOTR”), Alexa Simmons, Emory DeGuenther, Gracyn Kehoe, and Lily Doyle, and diver Elizabeth Bircher (“HM”).

Best SCY times:

  • 50 breast – 29.53
  • 100 breast – 1:01.29
  • 200 breast – 2:12.87
  • 200 IM – 2:04.68
