ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Navy swimming and diving teams combined to win 28 events during victories by the Mids (women: 5-2, men: 7-0) over American (women: 4-5, men: 2-7), Bucknell (women: 4-1, men: 3-2) and Lafayette (women: 0-5, men: 1-4), Saturday afternoon at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis.

“It is always fun to compete against these three teams,” said Navy women’s swimming head coach John Morrison. “All are well coached and very good at racing. I was very good at how our team responded.”
“It was an exciting day in Lejeune Hall today with four Patriot League teams competing,” said Navy men’s swimming head coach Bill Roberts. “There was good energy both in the stands and on deck throughout today’s competition.”
The Navy men’s team won all 16 events contested on the day. Earning a pair of individual event wins were Tyler Kaminski and Juan Mora. Kaminski swept the backstroke races, winning the 100 back in a time of 49.28 and the 200 back with an effort of 1:47.01. Mora first won the 100 breast with his time of 54.44 and later won the 100 individual medley with a time of 49.93.
“We saw some outstanding performances throughout the afternoon,” said Roberts. :In addition, several team members had three or four races today with some doing their best work toward the end of the meet. We took a lot away from today’s performances and are looking forward to getting right back to work this coming week.”
Diver Mackenzie Kim won both diving boards on the day for the women’s team as she scored 277.90 points to win the one-meter event and 336.20 points to win the three-meter board.
Joining her with multiple individual event victories were Sarah Eldridge and Lauren Walsh. Eldridge posted a time of 10:22.81 to win the 100 free and later touched the wall first in the 500 free with her time of 5:02.67. Meanwhile, Walsh recorded a time of 1:03.13 to place first in the 100 breast and posted an effort of 2:18.43 to win the 200 breast.
“Team captain Sarah Eldridge really set the tone in winning the distance events,” said Morrison, “and the team followed her lead. We had a really good showing by our backstroke and breaststroke groups, as well as our divers. We are in a good place heading into our three-day meet.”
The Navy men’s team also won both the 200 medley and 200 free relays while the women’s team placed first in the 200 medley relay.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Sophomore Marin Priddy posted both an individual and a relay win for American University swimming and diving as the Eagles competed in a quad meet against Navy, Bucknell, and Lafayette on Saturday afternoon at Lejeune Hall. Overall, AU had two wins, one runner-up finish, and 13 top-six finishes. The men and women both defeated Lafayette, and both lost to Navy and Bucknell.
Notable Results
- Priddy’s individual winning time of 51.97 in the women’s 100 free is a personal record for her that also ranks 10th all-time in program history.
- The other win for the Eagles came in the women’s final event, the 200 free relay. Priddy teamed up with sophomore Piper Crosby, sophomore Grace Gilbert, and senior Isabel McGovern to go 1:35.48 which ranks 11th-best all-time at American.
- McGovern was the second-place finisher in the women’s 200 fly in a season-best time of 2:04.80, and later placed fifth in the 100 IM in 1:00.20.
- The foursome of Crosby, McGovern, Gilbert, and junior Jordan Carpentieri placed third in the women’s 200 medley relay in 1:45.97.
- Crosby earned a fourth-place finish in the 100 back in 57.67, with Priddy right behind her in fifth with a PR of 58.08 that ranks 15th all-time at AU.
- Sophomore Demetra Bicos took fourth in the women’s 500 free in a season-best 5:12.05, and junior Marley Reese was sixth in the women’s 200 breaststroke in a season-best 2:26.77.
- For the men’s team, freshman Gavin Shifflett had the top finish of fourth place in the 50 freestyle with a season-best time of 21.46.
- Sophomore Luke Martens was sixth in the men’s 200 free in 1:43.75, and junior Sam Kohm was sixth in the 100 fly in a season-best time of 51.74.
- Freshman Alex Way placed sixth in men’s 3-meter diving with a personal-best score of 279.40 that ranks eighth all-time at American.

Annapolis, Md. – The Bucknell women’s swimming and diving team went 2-1 at a quadrangular meet hosted by Navy at Lejeune Hall on Saturday. Bucknell defeated American (200-97) and Lafayette (224-76) but fell to Navy (177-112).
Clara Renner won both of her events for the Bison, taking the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.13) and the 100 fly (56.02). The sophomore won the 200 fly by more than two seconds, and she took the 100 fly by just under four-tenths of a second.
Bucknell finished ahead of Lafayette in 14 of the 16 events and beat American in 12 events. Navy won 12 total events in the meet.
The Bison posted six top-three finishes and 15 top-five finishes in individual events. The Bison took fourth in the 200 medley relay and fifth in the 200 free relay.
Kelly Byrne and Sofia Burns each had a runner-up finish. Byrne swam the 1,000 free in 10:26.83, and Burns swam the 200 backstroke in 2:05.53. Both swimmers finished ahead of American and Lafayette in the two events. Byrne also added a third-place finish in the 500 free, swimming a time of 5:09.67.
Freshman Tori Castro finished third in the 50 free with a time of 24.25. Her time was 0.27 seconds off of the top time and she finished ahead of both American and Lafayette.
Sydney Jee took fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.42) and 200 breast (2:23.39), finishing only behind Navy in both events. Sydney Dettmann had two top-five finishes. She took fourth in the 200 fly in 2:06.12 and fifth in the 200 back in (2:07.08).
Bucknell is back in Lewisburg for the Bucknell Invitational at Kinney Natatorium Nov. 21-23. This is a three-day trials/finals meet designed to emulate the postseason championships later in the season.
Annapolis, Md. – The Bucknell men’s swimming and diving team went 2-1 at a quadrangular meet against hosted by Navy at Lejeune Hall on Saturday. Bucknell dominated American (226-70) and Lafayette (217.5-81.5) but fell to Navy (185-104).
Bucknell finished ahead of American in 15 of the 16 events and finished ahead of Lafayette in 13 events. Navy, which has won 20 of the last 21 Patriot League Championships, won every event.
The Bison had two top-three finishes and 16 top-five finishes in individual events. Bucknell took fifth in both the 200-yard free relay and the 200 medley relay.
James Lombardi had Bucknell’s best finish as a runner-up in the 200 breast with a time of 2:08.52. Evan Hepburn finished fifth in the event ahead of Lafayette and American with a time of 2:11.63. Lombardi also took fourth earlier in the day in the 100 breast (57.82).
Jackson Vinarub’s 293.5 score in the three-meter dive was good for third ahead of Lafayette and American. Jack Krug finished fifth in both of his dives. He scored a 256.3 in the one-meter dive and 281.15 in the three-meter dive.
Jason Kellerman took fourth two events. The freshman tied for fourth in the 200 butterfly with his time of 1:52.31. He then swam the 100 fly later in the day in 51.45.
Several other Bison had finishes ahead of American and Lafayette. William Shoemaker swam the 1,000 free in 9:49.64. Dante Buonadonna finished fifth in the 200 free in 1:43.45 and Caleb Hagadorn took fifth in the 100 backstroke in (52.82).
Braden Beagle swam the 200 back in 1:53.84, Shane Wynne swam the 100 fly in 51.54 and Drew Davis swam the 100 IM in 51.95.
Next up is the Bucknell Invitational at Kinney Natatorium Nov. 22-24. This is a three-day trials/finals meet designed to emulate the postseason championships later in the season.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Swimming and diving battled Navy, Bucknell and American in a quad meet at Navy’s Lejeune Hall on Saturday afternoon.
Swimming for the men, freshman Augustus earned fifth in the 100-yard freestyle with a final time of 46.94, a season best performance. Senior Tommy Weber reeled in fifth in the 50-yard freestyle and sixth in the 100-yard backstroke (21.62, 52.93). Junior Alexander Zoldan enjoyed a sixth-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing with a season best 9:52.72.
Freshman Justin Tucker secured seventh in the 500-yard freestyle with a final time of 4:41.79, a season best, and sophomore Owen Lever achieved a 2:18.66 finish for eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Diving for the men, junior Trey Telleen secured third in the 1-meter dive with a score of 264.15. Classmate Landon Orth earned fourth in both the 1-and 3-meter dives with scores of 263.45 and 289.70. Senior Peter Curtis scored 229.05 in the 1 meter for ninth place.
Swimming for the women, senior Isabella Van Ess snagged fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a final time of 2:24.27. Freshman Francesca DiGiovanni placed seventh in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing in 10:58.26, a season best. Classmate Kristina Fleck reeled in seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.63.
Sophomore Meghan Robinson collected seventh in the 200 breast with a time of 2:29.40. Junior Caroline Schenck reached eighth and a season best with her performance in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:57.72. Sophomore Ever Ferguson and freshman Luca Pirone each acquired team-leading times for the season as well as an eighth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly and the 50-yard freestyle. Ferguson finished with a time of 2:12.33 while Pirone ended with 25.05.
Senior diver Katie Hensell enjoyed a third-place finish in the 3-meter with a score of 246.50. Hensell also finished sixth in the 1 meter, scoring 232.40. Junior Mia Guster took home third in the 1 meter with a score of 242 even. In the 3 meter, Guster collected fourth (245.75).
The men fell to American 160-127, Bucknell 217.50-81.50 and Navy 188-94. The women saw similar results, losing to American 170-129, Bucknell 224-76 and Navy (188-101).
“Being able to swim in the facility that is hosting Patriot League Championships is always a great opportunity and today our teams took advantage of that opportunity,” said Lafayette head coach James Daily. “We are all about progression and consistently moving the needle forward and many of our athletes did exactly that. We have our rivalry meet against Lehigh in two weeks and we believe our team is in a great place to make our alumni and athletics department proud. We look forward to seeing everyone at Jacobs Pool on Lehigh’s campus!” Dailey said.
The Maroon and White head to Lehigh for the annual Laf-Lehigh dual meet on Nov. 21 at 6 p.m.
