Swims You Might Have Missed On Night 2 Of Summer Juniors

Highlighting the second night of competition in swims you might have missed was 15 year old Una Diaz. Diaz swam to a 6th place finish in the girls 400 IM, dropping almost six seconds in the process.

Diaz entered the meet as the #52 seed and a best time of a 4:58.02 that she swam just two and a half weeks ago at the Senior Mets Summer Championship. She had entered the season never having broken the 5:00 mark as her best time at the end of last summer was a 5:03.65. Tonight, Diaz posted a 4:52.09 to drop 5.93 seconds from earlier this month.

Also highlighting the girls 400 IM was Ava Jochims. The 16 year old posted a 4:50.78 and dropped 4.20 seconds off her best time as she entered with a best time of a 4:54.98 from May’s Richmond Sectionals. Her best time entering the season was a 5:01.41.

Earning a finish in the ‘A’ final while posting a huge best time was Lily Andruss. Andruss dropped 1.02 seconds on the day in the girls 100 free. She entered the meet as the #43 seed with a season best time of a 57.49 from June, her lifetime best stood at a 57.46 from May 2024. Tonight, she touched 8th in a 56.47.

The boys 100 free had numerous highlights. Ethan Schutten, a Minnesota commit, posted a 51.43 best time just two weeks ago. Tonight he dropped another 0.67 seconds in the event posting a 50.76 for 11th. Also highlighting the event was Alex Goodman who swam to a 51.01, dropping from his entry time of a 52.57 that made him the #104 seed.

Virginia Tech commit Andy Roose dropped 6.52 seconds on the day in the 400 IM as he swam to a 18th place finish. Roose entered with a best time of a 4:31.59 that he swam in May 2025 and improved down to a 4:25.07 today.
