LIU Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving programs came through with another dominant performance over St. Peter’s Friday night. The Men’s team took their match up 95-54. On the Women’s side, they knocked off the Peacocks by a 143-49 final score. As part of the match, they also Felician University Swimming by a 133-63 tally as well.
There were several standout performances from both teams Friday night but perhaps few were as dominant as LIU’s placement in both first and second in the women’s 400-yard relay medley, and the men’s finishing both first and third in that same category.
With the victories, both the Men’s and Women’s team moved to 2-2 on the season and will face off against Wagner next week in a home-and-home matchup.

JERSEY CITY, N.J.- Saint Peter’s University Swimming & Diving hosted Long Island University and Felician University in a tri-meet on Senior Day.
Prior to the meet, Saint Peter’s honored senior Alex Hernandez, Ashton Smith, Austin Arnold, Cassidy Mulligan, and Vladimir Petras. Saint Peter’s men’s team lost the head-to-head with LIU, 54-95. On the women’s side, the Peacocks lost to both LIU and Felician.
On his senior day, Arnold claimed victory in the men’s 200-yard IM race with a 2:00.91 finals time. Arnold also scored a second-place time in the men’s 500-yard freestyle for the Peacocks. Victor Fuentes notched a first-place finish for Saint Peter’s in the men’s 100-yard breaststroke.
Friday’s meet served as the team’s second-to-last home meet of the season. The Peacocks will need a short memory ahead of Saturday’s road meet at Monmouth University. The meet will start at 12 p.m.

Rutherford, NJ – January 24, 2025 – Felician University’s swimming team delivered strong performances at a tri-meet held on January 24, 2025, competing against St. Peter’s University and Long Island University (LIU). The event, which took place at the Ocean County YMCA, showcased notable efforts across multiple events from both the men’s and women’s teams.
Women’s 400 Yard Medley Relay
The Felician University women’s team had an impressive showing in the 400 Yard Medley Relay, with the A relay team finishing at 4:11.67 and securing third place. The relay team, which included Amelia Mayers, Christine Fabo Mbite, Emily Hoppe, and Katinka Ummels, demonstrated competitive spirit and teamwork in their race. Felician’s B relay team also competed, finishing at 4:21.94.
Women’s 1000 Yard Freestyle
In individual events, Felician’s Rachel Omoruyi showcased determination in the Women’s 1000 Yard Freestyle, finishing with a time of 10:59.87. Her effort secured second place in a competitive field. Her teammate Salma Nuino Galan also swam strongly, finishing with a time of 11:37.94.
Women’s 200 Yard Freestyle
In the Women’s 200 Yard Freestyle, Katinka Ummels led the way for Felician, securing a solid third-place finish with a time of 2:02.31. Her performance was consistent throughout the race, with notable splits in each leg.
Overall, the meet was a fantastic opportunity for the team to demonstrate their skills and perseverance in a competitive environment. While facing tough opponents like LIU and St. Peter’s, the Felician swimmers held their own, showcasing growth and determination.
