PULLMAN, Wash. (October 11, 2024) – Washington State Women’s Swimming won 13 of the 14 events to post a 169-93 victory over Northern Colorado at Gibb Pool Friday.
The Cougars received three wins from junior Emily Lundgren, two from junior Dori Hathazi, two from freshman Tatum Janning and won both the 400 medley relay and 200 free relay to clinch the first career win for first-year head coach Russell Whitaker. WSU went 1-2-3 in the 200 free, 100 back, 50 free, 100 free and 200 back.
The 400 medley relay team of Anna Rauchholz, Lundgren, Skylar Brgoch and Darcy Revitt opened the meet with a win by over five seconds. Janning followed with a win in the 1000 free, Hathazi won the 200 free, Rauchholz followed with a win in the 100 back and Lundgren claimed the 100 breast before UNC won the 200 fly.
Reigning Mountain West Conference swimmer of the week freshman Darcy Revitt won the 50 free, senior Emma Wright won the 100 free and sophomore Ariel Wang claimed the 200 back. Lundgren picked up her second win with the victory in the 200 breast, Janning held off UNC for the 500 free, Hathazi won the 100 fly and Lundgren won the 200 IM before the 200 free relay team of Revitt, Brgoch, Addyson Lewis and Wright capped the night with the win.
WSU returns to the pool next weekend with a trip to Colorado State next Friday and Denver / Air Force next Saturday.

MOSCOW, Idaho — Northern Colorado went 0-2 last weekend at Washington State and Idaho.
At Idaho, Madison Berg swept the diving competitions. She won the 3-meter springboard competition with a score of 243.22 and added a second gold with a 299.18 in the 1-meter.
Mireya Ruiz followed Berg with a 233.47 on the 3-meter springboard.
Violet Noel posted a 242.18 in the 1-meter springboard, collecting the bronze.
Martina Yuki Trionfetti, Maria Erokhina, Ellyson Lombardi and Kyra Rabess placed second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:46.20), while the quartet of Sloane Antonetz, Birgitta Ingolfsdottir, Payten Irwin and Vitoria Simioni took bronze in a time of 1:46.52.
Emma On-The-Hill collected a silver in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:39.74.
Rabess claimed gold in the 500-yard freestyle and added a second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.78).
Antonetz swam a 59.49 in the 100-yard backstroke, placing second.
Erokhina won the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:05.20 and added silver in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:23.53. She placed third in the 200-yard IM in a time 2:11.18.
Ingolfsdottir tallied a runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.97).
Lombardi paced the field in the 200-yard butterfly, with a time of 2:04.35. She swam 56.60 and placed second in 100-yard butterfly.
Irwin chased Lombardi to the line in the 200-yard butterfly, registering second in a time of 2:05.64. She took home third in the 100-yard butterfly, with a time of 57.21.
Trionfetti placed third in the 100-yard freestyle, .01 out of second at 53.31.
Ariane Bernier recorded a 2:06.94 in the 200-yard backstroke and placed third.
Lily Mayer earned a bronze in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:11.85.
Trionfetti, Mayer, Lombardi and Rabess claimed the 400-yard relay in a time of 3:31.41.
Lombardi claimed the only win for UNC against Washington State Friday. She swam a 2:03.09 to earn gold in the 200-butterfly.
The Bears open their home schedule Friday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. against New Mexico State.
