Columbia, Mo. – University of Missouri Swim and Dive found its way onto the podium in all 32 events as it cruised past Lindenwood and Southern Illinois in a double-dual Friday, Nov. 3. The women’s squad defeated the host Lions 213-83 and fellow visitor’s SIU 188-108. On the men’s side, Mizzou outscored LU 176-119 and bested the Salukis 171.5-117.5 inside the St. Peters Rec-Plex.
The Tigers lit up the stat sheet, winning 20 events and taking up 57 percent off all podium positions. The Missouri women swept the podium in the 200 free, 200 fly, 50 free, 100 free and the 500 free, while the men accomplished the same in the 100 back.
To start the day, Mizzou won three of the four diving events, as Kamryn Wong swept the women’s one-meter and three-meter while Collier Dyer won the one-meter, being bested in the three-meter by just 0.35 points.
The swimmers entered the pool a couple hours later, seeing similar success. Both 200 medley relay teams kicked things off by pacing their respective events, and 14 individual victories ensued.
Jane Smith, Taylor Williams and Mikolaj Malec each earned multiple gold medals. Smith paced the women’s 1000 free with a time of 10:00.21 and later hammered home a 4:52.63 in the women’s 500 free. Williams took care of business in the sprints, claiming first prize in the women’s 50 free and the women’s 100 fly with times of 22.88 and 53.46, respectively. Malec won the men’s 1000 free with a 9:18.86 standing and the men’s 200 back by finishing in 1:45.25.
Grant Bochenski, Peyton Drexler, Piper McNeil, Logan Ottke, Emily Roden, Daniel Wilson, Zara Zallen and Jan Zubik also earned individual victories throughout the competition.
NOTABLE RESULTS
- Along with their 20 wins, the Tigers earned 23 silver and 12 bronze medals.
- Including the relay events, 33 different Mizzou swimmers and divers finished on the podium.
- Kamryn Wong’s 252.30 in the one-meter and 296.65 in the three-meter were each 30+ points clear of the competition.
- On the women’s side, Francesca Smith, Taylor Williams and Zara Zallen each finished four podiums.
- For the men, Daniel Wilson accomplished the same feat.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Olivia Herron set a new school record in the 100 breaststroke on Friday against Lindenwood and Missouri. Herron set the new fastest time at 1:01.09 breaking the current record which was set by Mima Zaborska at 1:01.15.
“Olivia Herron continued her strong fall campaign with a lifetime best and program record in the 100 Breaststroke. Any time a performance exceeds anything that has ever been done here it is very special!” head coach Geoff Hanson said.
The women’s team finished with a split, beating Lindenwood 211-88 but falling to Missouri 188-108. Celia Pulido had two individual first place finishes in the 100 and 200 backstroke. Olivia Herron had two individual first place finishes as well, in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
The men’s team fell to Lindenwood 136.50-160.50 and Missouri 171.50-117.50. ” While it was disappointing for the men to come away with two team losses, there are many positives to take away,” said Hanson. Alex Santiago , Alex Cimera , Nicolas Lanuza and Donat Csuvarszki were victorious in the men’s 200 freestyle relay. Donat Csuvarszki had another first place finish in the men’s 50 freestyle.
On the diving side Farida Moussa placed second in the women’s 1M dive with a score of 217.95. She also placed second in the 3M dive with a score of 248.40.
“Overall a solid day for both teams as we look forward to our home mid-season invitational next week.. The Saluki women continued to perform at a high level despite splitting the day with Lindenwood and Mizzou” Hanson said.
The Salukis will be back home in Shea Natatorium Nov. 9-11 as they host the A3 Performance Invitational.

After spending the last few weeks on the road competing, the Lindenwood Swimming and Diving teams returned home to host the University of Missouri and Southern Illinois University.
In the men’s 1M Championship (Six Dives), David Molina Fregenal captured second with 268.20, as teammate Noah Boyd landed in third with 248.60. On the women’s side, Ashley Garcia scored 215.10 for third place. For the men’s 2M Championship (Six Dives), Fregenal and Boyd took first and third respectively with a total of 287.20 and 270.85.
Megan Hollaar claimed third in the women’s 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:22.63, while Adam Szczerba also finished in third for the men in 9:33.09. In the men’s 200-yard freestyle, Matheo Mateos-Mongelos recorded a second-place finish with a time of 1:38.87. The men’s 100-yard breaststroke saw Johan Cue Carrillo claim first with a time of 53.76.
In the men’s 200-yard butterfly, Patryk Winiatowski finished in third (1:49.99). Ondrej Dusa claimed third in the men’s 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.95. For the women’s 200-yard breaststroke, Beata Maruszczyk finished in 2:16.69 for second place. On the men’s side, Polat Tasbasi completed the event in 2:01:59 for third. Szczerba claimed first in the men’s 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:30.98.
Winiatowski finished in first (48.31) in the men’s 100-yard butterfly. For the men’s 400-yard IM, Mateos-Mongelos and Nick Williams finished in first and third respectively with times of 3:53.22 and 3:59.91. In the men’s 200-yard freestyle relay, Lindenwood’s Kowalczyk, Winiatowski, Trevor Danner and Dusa finished in third with a time of 1:20.84.
Head Coach Jason Owen stated, “Despite some injuries and setbacks today, the Lions put on a show while hosting two top regional teams. The men recorded their first ever team win over SIU and had multiple event wins. The women also were able to come out on top in some races. We are excited to travel to Indiana State for the first time tomorrow and continue racing in preparations for our invitational at Mizzou in a few weeks.”
Lindenwood will be back in action on November 11th, in a dual meet against Indiana State University and the University of Indianapolis. Meet time is slated for 1:00 pm CST.
