ART ADAMSON INVITATIONAL

With so many fall invitationals taking place last week, it was easy to miss all the fast racing that happened at the Art Adamson Invitational. Relive the second and third nights of the meet through race videos below.

Highlights included a successful 200 back/200 fly double courtesy of Alabama’s Rhyan White, a third personal best by Texas A&M freshman Baylor Nelson, and nation-leading times from USC’s Kaitlyn Dobler (56.94 100 breast) and Alabama’s Victor Johansson (14:39.63).

More race videos are available on Texas A&M’s YouTube channel. Lane 1 is closest to the camera.

Alabama fifth-year Rhyan White posted a 200 fly PB of 1:54.36 to cap her tough 200 back/200 fly double:

The Texas A&M duo of Alex Sanchez (1:51.o9) and Andres Puente Bustamante (1:51.14) clocked the top 200 breast times in the country so far this season with their tight 1-2 finish:

LSU’s defending national champion Brooks Curry blasted a 41.86 to win the 100 free by almost a full second, ranking as the fourth-fastest time this season behind Jordan Crooks (41.29), Gui Caribe (41.44), and Josh Liendo (41.70):

Texas A&M freshman Baylor Nelson threw down his third PB of the meet in the 200 back (1:41.17) to shave .14 seconds off his previous best and place second behind junior teammate Ethan Gogulski, who was just off his nation-leading time of 1:39.98 from prelims:

Alabama’s Rhyan White lowered her NCAA-leading time in the 200 back to 1:51.53 on the front end of her 200 back/200 fly double:

Alabama’s Victor Johansson blasted 14:39.63 to win the 1650 free, taking over the top time in the NCAA by a significant margin and breaking a school record that had stood since 2006 (14:48.25 by Mark Randall):

LSU graduate transfer Maggie MacNeil opened Thursday’s finals session with the fastest-ever 50 fly split (21.85, lane 2) during the 200 medley relay, knocking off Gretchen Walsh’s unsuited 21.91 done in October at the Virginia vs. Florida dual meet:

Reigning national champion Kaitlyn Dobler of USC dominated the 100 breast with a nation-leading time of 56.94, a new season best just .01 seconds off her PB from NCAAs in March:

Alabama’s Charlie Hawke and Air Force’s Wen Zhang both broke 1:32 in the 200 free to take over the top two times in the country so far this season:

Texas A&M freshman Baylor Nelson posted an impressive 3:38.39 to lead an Aggie sweep of the top four spots in this final:

Texas A&M freshman Guilia Goerigk cruised to a victory in the 400 IM, recording a 4:05.75 that ranks as the second-fastest time in the country this season behind Virginia senior Ella Nelson (4:03.61):
