As a freshman at Harvard, Chuck qualified for NCAAs in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and earned All-American honors as a part of the 400 and 800 free relay at NCAAs. This year he’s already stamped his ticket to the big show with a pair of wins at the Georgia Invite in December. Those wins also made him the fastest breaststroker in Harvard history, with a :52.65 in the 100 breast a 1:54.08 in the 200 breast. Chuck isn’t the only one getting it done for the Harvard Men. They’ve gong through their dual meet schedule undefeated, including a huge win at Princeton last month.
The Ivy League Championships start this week at Brown. Last year, Katis earned a pair of second place finishes and even though he won’t be fully rested or shaved this week, he seems fully confident in his and his Harvard teammate’s chances.
