Lars Hanna, a current high school senior from Greenwood Village, Colorado, has committed to swim for Division I California State University, Bakersfield. Hanna will graduate from Cherry Creek High School in spring 2020 and join the Runners’ class of 2024.
Hanna is currently a year-round swimmer for the Aquawolves Swim Team in Denver, CO. He also swims for his high school team at Cherry Creek.
At this year’s CHSAA 5A Boys State Championships, Hanna placed 5th in the 200 IM (1:53.77).
“I have committed to California State University, Bakersfield to continue my athletic and academic career. I felt an immediate connection to the team the moment I stepped foot on campus. I can’t wait to spend the next four years with my new team and family. Let’s go Runners!”
With his current best times, Hanna would have had multiple finals performances at the 2020 WAC Swimming and Diving Championships with the Runners. Most notably, he would have placed 19th in both the 200 butterfly (1:51.80) and the 100 backstroke (50.66) and 20th in the 200 IM (1:50.86).
