Tony Min, a senior at Exeter High School in Exeter, New Hampshire, has recently announced his commitment to swim for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI – Division III). Min will be joining the school’s class of 2023.
Min currently holds records for Exeter High School’s men’s swim team in multiple events. Individually he holds the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke records. He was also on the 200 freestyle and 200 medley record-breaking relays.
Min, who currently swims with Phoenix Swimming in Haverhill, Massachusetts, specializes in butterfly along with some sprint freestyle and IM events.
“I’m extremely excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. With RPI’s rigorous academics and strong swim team, I knew it was a perfect fit for me and I cannot wait to see what the future holds. Go Engineers!”
During his time at RPI, Min plans on majoring in both computer science and electrical engineering.
This season, RPI’s men’s swimming and diving team won their 4th consecutive Liberty League Championship meet title.
At this meet, Min would have made several finals appearances. Most notably, he would have placed 3rd in the 200 butterfly (1:52.88) behind Rensselaer freshman Alex Aung who won the event with a time of 1:51.81.
Min also would have placed 5th in the 100 butterfly (51.24) behind future teammates Alex Aung (50.32) and junior Graham Zola (50.86).
