The 2017 Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference teams were announced on Thursday, comprised of student-athletes who were selected based on their performance in the pool, as well as in the classroom. To be nominated, swimmers and divers must have a GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career. The teams were selected through voting conducted by the league’s Sports Information Directors.
Making up the Men’s Swimming and Diving Academic All-Conference team are Davidson’s Riley League and Clay Resweber, George Mason’s Paul Helfgott, George Washington’s Andrea Bolognesi and Ben Fitch, La Salle’s Fabian Bergman and Jerry Gravel, St. Bonaventure’s Jordan Powers and Preston Schilling and Saint Louis’ Isaiah Williams.
On the women’s side, Davidson’s Sarah Coats, Elise Lankiewicz and Kassie Shannon, Duquesne’s Lexi Santer, Abigail Stauffer and Abby Watson, George Washington’s Miranda Simon, La Salle’s Hannah Elliot, Massachusetts’ Sydney Connor and Rhode Island’s Nicole Petta complete the Women’s Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference team.
