The pair own the top times in the nation in their events.

Louisville swimmers Mallory Comerford and Grigory Tarasevich and Clemson diver Danielle Reitsma, and Pitt diver Dominic Giordano were named ACC Swimming and Diving Performers of the Week.

The 2015 ACC Freshman of the Year, Comerford earned ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week honors after garnering three first-place finishes and a second place finish in No. 3 Louisville’s win over No. 11 Tennessee, 167-133. The sophomore recorded two top-15 times in the 100 (49.83) and 200 freestyle (1:47.64), earning NCAA qualifying cuts in each. Comerford earned her third NCAA qualifying cut of the meet in the 50 free with a first-place time of 22.87. The Michigan native swam the second leg of the 400 free relay (49.41 split) which placed second in an overall time of 3:20.50.

Tarasevich recorded four first-place finishes as No. 11 Louisville topped No. 13 Tennessee, 164.5-135.5, which earned him ACC Men’s Swimmer of the Week accolades.  The senior swept the backstroke events, recording a 49.02 in the 100 and a 1:43.82 in the 200—which is the third best time in the country. He swam the opening leg of the Cardinals’ 200 medley relay team posting a 22.35 split and combined for 1:27.54, which is the seventh-best time in the country. He anchored the 400 free relay in 44.11, rounding out his team’s final time to be another top-15 time nationally in 2:53.40.

Pitt’s Giordano, who also earned ACC Men’s Diver of the Week honors last week, took home the honor again after placing first in both the one and three-meter dives. Giordano’s 391.58 point total on one-meter was one of the best efforts of his career, while he again topped the 400-point plateau with a 404.93 six-dive mark on three-meter. The senior’s performance met NCAA zone standards in each event and lifted the Panthers over opponent Buffalo, 151-149.

Reitsma was named ACC Women’s Diver of the Week after helping the Tigers earn a victory over West Florida, 23-15. The senior posted two NCAA zone qualifying scores in the one and three meter dives. Her one-meter score of 301.12 points was a career-best and earned her a first place finish.
