Junior diver Tyler Roberge competed at the Gold Coast FINA Grand Prix on 3-meter. 

 

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  – After receiving his third career ACC Male Diver of the Week honor on Oct.18, junior Tyler Roberge traded in Garnet and Gold for Canadian colors from Oct. 27-30 by competing at the 2016 FINA Grand Prix in Gold Coast, Australia.

The seventh meet on the eight-stop circuit was held at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre.

“Returning back to the international scene was another great experience,” Roberge said. “I wasn’t completely satisfied with the result but I am walking away from this competition with valuable lessons learned and I am very excited to be heading back to Tallahassee to train and compete with my teammates.”

The Edmonton, Alberta native finished fifth on 3-meter in Semifinal A with a score of 318.20 after placing eighth in prelims with a score of 303.45

Roberge earned his spot on the team after he placed third on 3-meter at the 2016 Olympic Trials.

Florida State will travel to Fort Myers, Fla. to face Florida Gulf Coast (women only) and Florida Southern on Nov. 4-5.
