18 Tennessee Volunteers Set for NCAA Championships (HYPE VIDEO)

The 2016 Tennessee Volunteers women’s swimming & diving team will take their biggest-ever team of 18 athletes (13 individual swimmers, 2 divers, 3 relay only swimmers) to the 2016 NCAA Championships next weekend in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tennessee finished 11th at last year’s NCAA Championship meet, just 1 point behind Indiana for a fourth-straight top-10 finish.

The Volunteers graduated only two swimmers from their NCAA Championship last year: breaststroker Molly Hannis and 200 free relay swimmer Cherelle Thompson.

The individual breaststroke events are a hole in Tennessee’s lineup, and the only events where the Volunteers didn’t earn individual invites. They have, however, gotten enough out of freshman Maddie Banic, primarily a sprint butterflier and freestyler, to win the SEC title in the 200 medley relay.

The 2016 NCAA Championships run from Wednesday March 16th through Saturday March 19th
