Mexican Swimming Federation To Send 25 Swimmers To This Summer’s Pan Am Games

The Mexican Swimming Federation named their roster for the 2015 Pan Am Games following the completion of the Mexican National Championships which stood as the qualifying meet for the Pan Am squad.

A grand total of 25 swimmers were chosen to compete in Toronto at the games this July, made up of 12 men and 13 women. Natalia Jaspeado is qualified to swim the most events at the meet, with a grand total of four. She’ll likely swim a relay if Mexico puts one forth. She’s slated to swim the 200, 400, and 800 freestyles along with the 400m IM.

On the men’s side, Cal Golden Bear Long Gutierrez is swimming the most events. He’ll compete in the 200m freestyle, 100m fly, and 200m fly. Gutierrez was undeniably one of the top swimmers at the meet.

With several national records broken at trials, the Mexican Swimming Federation is putting forth what looks like one of their best teams in years. They have not yet released a roster for the 2015 World Championships.

This is indeed the strongest swimming team fielded in the last 20 + years that Mexico has been able to offer. They will certainly bring home good results since they are a bunch of very commited swimmers with a great proud of being Mexicans and a great sense of discipline and responsibility!!
Go Mexican swimming team!!
