#6 Seed Virginia Hinds Drops 200 Back In Favor Of 100 Fly At Summer Juniors

US Summer Juniors has continued to have minimal scratches through three days of competition. The biggest scratch for Friday morning comes from #6 seed Virginia Hinds in the girls 200 backstroke. Hinds was seeded with a 2:13.14, a time she swam in June 2024.

Hinds has dropped the 200 back in favor of the 100 butterfly where she is the #43 seed with an entry time of a 1:01.46 that she swam at the start of July. So far, Hinds finished 13th in the 50 back and 79th in the 100 free. She also is entered in the 200 free, 100 back, and 50 free on the final two days of competition.

Hinds is the #10 ranked recruit in the girls high school class of 2026 and is committed to Georgia for next fall.

The only other big scratch comes from #11 seeded Michael Geh in the boys 100 fly. Geh was entered with a 54.51 at the end of May. He instead will focus on the 200 backstroke where he is entered with a 2:02.17 making him the #7 seed.

So far, Geh swam to a 18th place finish in the 50 back and 30th place in the 100 free. He also is entered in the 50 fly, 200 free, 100 back, 200 IM, and 50 free later in the meet. Geh has announced his verbal commitment to Princeton for 2026.
