The third day of the 2026 U.S. Masters Nationals saw the most national records of any day so far with 14 records falling on Saturday.
On top of all the records, there were a few performances from former Olympians including Jenny Thompson and Micah Sumrall (formerly Lawrence).
Thompson swam the 50 freestyle, touching in 24.37 to just miss her own 50-54 age national record of 23.75 from 2023.
Sumrall, who swam the 200 breaststroke at the 2012 Summer Olympics, won the 35-39 200 breaststroke on Saturday in 2:19.20. This swim was just off the 2015 record of 2:17.51 set by Katie Glenn.

Super fast times! I can’t wait to attend another Nationals! Too bad I missed this one.
I wonder why the Masters don’t create a national team for world championship events. The results would be exciting.
